Hanged to awning

This is a detail of a painting/collage I did quite a few years ago.  I use older newspaper for the background on many of my paintings.  I was tearing up a newspaper from 1940 and on the opposite side found this story.  I quickly pasted it down and then made the painting based on the story.

Hello

Well, it's been quite a journey.  I have finally updated the site with all the newspaper clippings I found so many years ago. To again verify this website contains newspaper clippings that I found at a thrift store. All newspaper clippings were bound in one folder, and cover the time from 1933-1946. They all dealt with children kidnappings/births/twins/deformities/young mothers etc.  I have never been able to verify the original owner of the folder, but I keep coming back to the clippings.  They are endlessly intriguing.  Thanks.

These newspaper images were found 8 years ago in a Thift store. All clipping were bound in one folder, and cover the time from 1933-1946. There was no information about the original owner. They all seem to come from the Oakland Tribune. Many of the clippings are in German, and one photo of a woman with a small boy. There are still about 15 or so clippings that I will add to the site soon.
